SARIYER'DE KÖPEK KALMADI-NO DOGS LEFT IN SARIYER

Sariyer Belediye Başkanı Yusuf Tülün’ün talimatıyla, veteriner işlerinden sorumlu Meral Başaran’ın komutasında yürütülen köpek imha çalışmalarında ilk etap tamamlanmış ve Sarıyer ilçesinde neredeyse köpek kalmamıştır. Armutlu, Emirgan, Istinye, Büyükdere... tüm mahallelerdeki, sahipli, sahipsiz, küpeli, küpesiz, mahallelinin baktığı bütün köpekler belediye ekipleri tarafından, yer yer itirazlarla karşılaşıldığında zor kullanılarak toplanıp uzak ormanlara atılmak suretiyle itlaf edilmiştir.

Meral Başaran ve ekibinin ilçeyi hayvanlardan arındırdık diye övündüğünü duyuyoruz.

Şunu bilmeliler ki, köpeklerden arındırdıklarını sandıkları sokaklar bir süre sonra doğurgan köpeklerle yeniden dolacaktır. 5199 Sayılı Hayvan Koruma Kanununun kısırlaştırılan köpeklerin alındıkları yere bırakılmasını emretmesinin nedeni, çözümün, ancak tüm sokakların kısır hayvanlar tarafından koruduğunda mümkün olacağı içindir. Ama bu uzun vadeli çözüm projesi ne belediye başkanı ne de sorumlu ekibin işine gelmemektedir. Onlar, kanuna rağmen, ihale şirketleri eliyle, katliam yapmayı ve yerel seçimlere sorunu çözmüş gibi yaparak girmeyi tercih etmişlerdir.

Ama Sarıyer halkı köpeksiz sokakların ardındaki katliamın farkındadır. Bu kanlı icraata onay vermeyecektir.

NO DOGS LEFT IN SARIYER

The first round of dog eradication project started with the directive of Sariyer mayor Yusuf Tulun and executed under the command of Meral Basaran has been completed in Sariyer. There has been nearly no dogs left in the region. The teams have collected all dogs, regardless of the fact that some have owners, some are already neutered and looked after by the community. Now there are nearly no dogs left in Armutlu, Emirgan, Istinye, Buyukdere… nearly all the villages. The dogs that are collected are dumped in forests far away from the region.

We are hearing that Meral Basaran and his team are proud that they have cleaned the region of dogs.

They should know that soon the streets they have emptied will be occupied by fertile new comers. The reason why the Animal Protection Law No. 5199 orders the neutered dogs to be returned back to where they are taken is because a solution is only possible if and only if the streets are protected by neutered dogs from the entrance of fertile new comers. But they are not concerned about any long term solution. They prefer to go against the law, do this massacre though a contractor firm and go to local elections pretending they have solved the problem.

But inhabitants of Sariyer are aware of the massacre behind the empty streets. At the elections, they will show that they don't give approval to this bloody execution.
